Kumuls 34 points ahead at half-time

The PNG LNG Kumuls are on fire this afternoon with 34 points ahead of a struggling USA Hawks.

7 mins 53 secs into the match, James Segeyaro picked up an inside ball, offloading to Lachlan Lam who opened up the account for the PNG LNG Kumuls.

Lam, although on debut, made no secret of his ability in rugby league.

Rhyse Martin then had no problem converting, giving PNG an early lead, 6-nil.

Kicking dead off the restart, the USA Hawks struggled with the wind behind them.

Justin Olam went through from a pass from young Lam to score out right in the 11th minute.

PNG were on a roll as another Kumul debutant, Moses Meninga, got a break through to set up a beauty from Segeyaro.

Martin had no problem converting from right in front of the goal.

As if that was not enough, Lachlan Lam, with a right hand carry and brilliant side step, ran in his second try in the 16th to add on to PNG's score and with an easy conversion, it was 22 nil, putting the Kumuls in a comfortable lead.

A short water break did the homeside extra good as Rod Griffin ran in another Kumul try and with a touch from Martin's boots, PNG moved further in front of the USA Hawks, 28-nil.

Just a minute out from half time and Stargroth Amean rampaged through the Hawks’ defence, scoring for the PNG LNG Kumuls.

Half time stands at 34-nil.
