Kimbe Cutters host 9s

The Kimbe Cutters Board of Management has extended its selection process into the Hoskins Local Level Government as it hosted its second leg of its 9s tournament during the weekend.

Through this tournament a fifty men squad has been selected into two teams to represent Hoskins in the Provincial 9s that will later be held in September.

Board Chairman - Dominic Kile says this process that is being followed is to select talented players to represent the province in higher national league competitions.

Hoskins Ward three member – Steven Rame says it is a breakthrough for the local leagues in his LLG and thanks the Kimbe Cutters Board to stretch out its selections into the rural areas as well.

Rame says, there are so many talented young players in the villages that have missed out that can make history like Marcus Bai once did.

Talasea LLG will be this coming weekend being hosted in Valupai to be followed next by Kimbe and the Provincial 9s.

Kile says the Kimbe Cutters Board of Management is excited in the process and the formation of the province’s franchise team.

The province has already standard built sporting facilities and for its full utilization, having a rugby league team in the Digicel Cup will attract outside games.
