Firm secures naming sponsorship

The Basketball Federation of Papua New Guinea today announced Paradise Beverages as the presenting gold sponsor of the 2017 FIBA Melanesia Basketball Cup.

In addition, Paradise Beverages have also secured the naming sponsorship of the PNG national men’s and women’s basketball teams that will compete in the international tournament this September.

Paradise Beverages CEO, Michael Shields, presented a cheque valued at K270,000 to BFPNG President, Nick Daroa, at a press conference today at the Taurama Aquatic & Indoor Centre.

Under the partnership, Paradise Beverages will be specifically promoting their ‘PEPSI PNG’ products.

Daroa praised Paradise Beverages for their contribution to basketball.

“To have an outstanding PNG company like Paradise Beverages provide sponsorship support to our sport and the FIBA Melanesia Basketball Cup event is really a landmark occasion,” said Daroa.

“We are very grateful for their contribution and thank them for their belief in the work we are doing.

“Having the world recognisable Pepsi brand associated also brings a whole new level of credibility.

“With the announcement earlier in the week that games will not only be broadcast live on EMTV, but also on free to air channels in both Fiji and the Solomon Islands, this event is really gathering momentum.

“With just under three weeks to go before we tip-off, there’s still opportunities for other sponsors to get on board with us and be a part of this positive journey too.”

The 2017 FIBA Melanesia Basketball Cup commences on Wednesday, September 27, at the Taurama Aquatic & Indoor Centre.

Ticket information will be distributed in the coming weeks.
