Debutants Venezuela on a roll

Debutants in the 2016 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup, Venezuela, are on a roll to give a good challenge for the heavyweights.

Coming into the competition as underdogs, Venezuela showed no mercy taking on soccer giants and reigning champions Germany, displaying good techniques.

Despite the loss against Germany 3-1, the South American team had a fighting spirit to beat the best.

Venezuela had good attacking skills but made simple errors totaling up to 22 fouls in total.

Venezuela coach Jose Catoya revealed after the match that Germany scored not because they did a good job but because of the errors of Venezuela.

Catoya said they’ll be looking at improving these errors during their training session to prepare for South Korea today.

Catoya admitted that he was unhappy with the result but is pleased that his team put up a fighting spirit.

“We had a lot of chances to score goals but missed out on those chances,” Catoya added.

The coach confirmed that the team has settled in well and has adjusted to the time difference and climate very well.
