Day 15: Wins to Cheetahs and Sharks

The Cheetahs ran away with a 76 run win against the Warriors while the Sharks edged out the Diamonds by 19 runs on day 15 of the Hebou Shield yesterday.

In the Men’s 50 Over division match, batting first the Cheetahs set a target of 239.

Oala James (4/70), Assad Vala (3/24) and William Aiga (2/13) had the Warriors all bowled out for 163 in 39 overs to give the Cheetahs a comfortable win.

To the Women’s T20 match, the Sharks smashed their way to a 142, thanks to Konio Oala (70) and Helen Buruka (23).

In a rare feat, three Diamonds’ bowlers took three wickets apiece - Mairi Tom (3/16), Kopi John (3/16) and Helai Nou (3/25).

In their run chase, despite knocks from Helai Nou (30) and Pauke Siaka (28), the Diamonds were eventually all bowled out for 123.

It was Sibona Jimmy (4/25) who was instrumental in leading the Sharks to victory.
