They have supported with sponsorship packages for Team PNG athletes attending the Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia, next month.

In an agreement signed today, the deal sees a sustained commitment from bmobile-vodafone to support the Team PNG athletes.

Bmobile Group chief financial officer, Ali Contractor, spoke highly of the team efforts and preparations towards the Commonwealth Games, stating bmobile-vodafone was proud of sponsoring Team PNG.

“We have a few chances of winning some gold medals and I believe Team PNG has got potential to do much more than what they can at the moment.”

Apart from the sponsorship packages, bmobile is making it possible for regular updates of Team PNG’s progress to be sent straight to any prepaid bmobile user’s phone.

“All the information of the games will be going out to all the customers.”

Papua New Guinea Sports Federation and National Olympic Committee (PNGNOC) president, Sir John Dawanincura, said this was an excellent opportunity from the sponsorship from bmobile-vodafone as it marks an enhancement of communication for the athletes to communicate home.

“Communication is a key part of success; therefore the committee is delighted to welcome bmobile on board as part of our corporate family.”
