Tongan star Konrad Hurrell set to sign with Leeds Rhinos

Gold Coast Titans centre Konrad Hurrell is reportedly set to leave the Titans to sign with Super League giants Leeds Rhinos.

Various reports have revealed the 27-year-old will join former Raiders boss David Furner in his first year as head coach, leaving the Titans after three seasons.

Hurrell is contracted to the Titans until the end of the 2019 season, but it's understood the club has agreed to let him go to Leeds.

He has made 113 NRL appearances during his career with the NZ Warriors and Titans.

The Rhinos are one of England's most successful franchises, winning 11 championships - most recently in 2017 - and 13 Challenge Cups - rugby league's version of football’s FA Cup.

If he makes the move, Hurrell will link up with former Warriors teammate and Tongan international Tui Lolohea, who signed a three-year deal with the club earlier this year.

Former Junior Warrior Nathaniel Peteru is also contracted to the squad.

Hurrell has been left out of Tonga's squad to face Australia in a historic test match in front of a sellout Mt Smart Stadium crowd on Saturday.
