The Brisbane Broncos head into the international break sitting in the top four but coach Wayne Bennett still wants improvement from his side.
Brisbane dismantled the Penrith Panthers on Thursday night, skipping out to a 28-0 lead before winning 32-18 in an impressive performance at Suncorp Stadium.
It was the Broncos' sixth win of the season and fourth in a row, helping the men from Red Hill recover from the sloppy 2-3 record they had accumulated after five weeks of the competition.
Now with a week off from club duty, Bennett will turn his focus to his English coaching responsibilities with England's national rugby league side to face Samoa on May 6.
But fans can be sure Bennett will have Brisbane in the back of his mind this week after the master coach told media he wanted more from his side after the international matches take place.
Bennett's Broncos face winnable games against the Manly Sea Eagles and Wests Tigers in the two weeks before the State of Origin period, with wins a necessity before his team enters the stage of the season they most typically struggle in.
"The room for improvement is always the biggest room in the house when you coach so that's not an issue," Bennett said.
"In saying that, we're in a good position. We are playing good football.
"We haven't had a bad game all season. We're committed."
Improving is a task that's been made harder by an injury to star centre James Roberts, with the 24-year-old having to be carried off the field 10 minutes from full-time on Thursday night.
Scans and an x-ray revealed ligament damage in his ankle, a far better result than the break or fracture that was first feared.
A return against the New Zealand Warriors in Round 12 is likely for Roberts but Bennett is not worried, saying his side would cope fine without their leading try-scorer.
"I think we're going good. We're picking up injuries along the way but we're still getting the job done," he said.
"We lose Ben Hunt and nobody blinks an eye because we're a confident footy team. He's a huge player in our team.
"That's the way we make them at the Broncos. We just get on with life and get the job done.
"We lose James for a while [but] we'll get someone in there and get the job done. That's what they're doing and they've got a great attitude towards that.
"We've lost Tevita [Pangai Junior] and he's a pretty big impact player.
"We're not without our moments ourselves. The guys have been wonderful and turn up every week so I couldn't be more pleased with what they're doing."
In a sign that will please Brisbane fans, Hunt could be seen running well at Broncos training this week.
A return in two weeks time during Round 10 is on the cards but as Bennett explained, hamstrings are a difficult injury to judge.
"[You have to remember] it's a hamstring. It might look good but he'll still be another two or three weeks I think. I hope it's less but that's what the talk is," he said.
