Yangorru-Sausia joins NID roll out

Yangorru-Sausia District has joined the National Identification District Roll out project.

District CEO Fantson Yaninen signed an MOA with the Civil and Identification Registrar, Michael Kumung, today to begin the roll our process.

The signing was witnesses by Yangorru-Saussia MP and Minister for National Planning and Monitoring, Richard Maru.

Yangorru-Saussia District became the second District to join the District NID roll out project carried out by the Office of the Civil and Identification Registry.

District Development Authority CEO, Fantson Yaninen, said sine the NID  project began the District had been waiting patiently as many landowners have been trying to register Incorporated Land Groups (ILGs).

The MOA will allow the DDA to support an NID team to be stationed in the District.

Registrar Kumung said such partnerships will enhance the registration process and there is already interest shown.

Minister Maru said as the Member for Yangorru-Saussia, it was only relevant that his district jin the District roll out as an example to the rest of the country.

The Office of Civil and Identification Registry has a target registration of 1.5 million.
