Following the discovery of the break and enter of the locally owned rice mill, the Village Garden Rice Factory on Sunday August 27, locals alleged that the rice factory was abandoned.
They claimed that the factory was abandoned for more than 18 months and was out of operation since then.
Managing Director of Village Garden Rice Koren Maso said the production of rice has been halted due to financial constraints, but that doesn't change the fact that the country's only locally owned rice factory lost valuable equipment including a multi-purpose compressor and two N70 batteries.
