Senior Policeman arrested for stealing K3,000

A senior policeman has been arrested last week for stealing money which was earmarked for a church project.

The money was given to him to be paid to a service provider to provide the service.  However, it is alleged he used the money.

The Sergeant was at that time, the rural police station of Madang where the church group from Trans Gogol handed him the money, trusting he would deliver to the service provider.

Instead, the Commander pocketed the K3,000 and didn't deliver the money to supply timbers for the church construction in the village.

The Police Departments Internal Affairs Unit arrested  and charged him after a complaint was registered by the church group.
