Western Province was quiet with no major incidents reported to police during the Christmas and New Year.
Western Provincial Police Commander, Silva Sika said there were no reports of major incidents within town and the outskirts of the town.
PPC Sika thanked the people of Western Province for a peaceful celebration and encouraged them to continue to uphold that spirit throughout.
He thanked the police officers and respective community leaders, who made it possible for a peaceful celebration.
