Police vehicles, guns returned

The two police 10-seaters and weapons that were taken yesterday in Mendi have been returned.

PPC Southern Highlands, Gideon Kauke, says a team of police and army personnel negotiated the return of the property late yesterday afternoon.

The vehicles and guns were seized after a mobile squad was ambushed by frustrated locals following the NEC decision to suspend the Southern Highlands Provincial Government.

PPC Kauke says the locals from Semin village, through their leaders, brokered the return of the property.

However, Kauke says the main instigators of the ambush are still at large.
