Police boss calls on Koloma to surrender

NCD Metropolitan Superintendent, Perou N’Dranou, is calling on National Chief Statistician, Roko Koloma, to surrender to police for investigations.

Koloma is facing arrest by police on official corruption allegations.

He has been wanted by police for questioning since February over discrepancies of more than K24 million in the NSO accounts after the Department of Finance conducted an audit investigation in 2017.

Police obtained a warrant for his arrest on April 13, however it has not been effected on Koloma, after he obtained interim stay from the Waigani District Court and National courts respectively.

The stay against Koloma’s arrest was quashed or set aside by the Committal Court on June 27.

His lawyers made an application to the National Court to stay the arrest warrant obtained from the Committal Court on April 13.

That application was refused and dismissed on Friday as an abuse of process.

Other interim orders granted by the National Court on June 19 and July 5 were also dissolved on Friday.

N’Dranou today issued a call to Koloma to surrender to police for questioning over the allegations he is facing.
