PNGIPA Governing Council members visit Gaire village

Training of public servants in the country is the priority of PNG Institute of Public Administration (PNG IPA)

Chairman of PNGIPA Governing Council and Personnel Management Secretary John Kali says this is for the delivery of services in the local level governments and wards.

PNG IPA Governing Council meeting was held last Friday at March Girls resort.

They also visited Gaire village to speak to the villagers on how best the Government school can help in capacity building in the public service for the benefit of village people to receive better government services.

Kali said capacity building in the public service is crucial, as private sector is as important to public service as the public service is to the private sector, we must work hand-in-hand.

He said some of the training programs offered at PNG IPA are very relevant to the private sector operations and with the repositioning of the PNG IPA now, more public servants expected to attend training.

PNG IPA Governing Council members consist of PNG Business Council Representatives, Churches, Department of Provincial & Local Government Affairs, private sectors, PEA, Department of Labour and Industry, Training Societies and Minister’s Representatives.

The similar meeting was held late last year in Abau District of Central Province.
