The annual PNG Leaders’ Summit is scheduled for the 8th to 9th of February 2017.
It is the country’s premier national event of the year, bringing together national, provincial and local level governments, government department and statutory agencies heads and commodity boards.
The annual event provides a forum for presentation of reports on achievements and disappointments experienced at all Government levels.
This includes a look at the country’s economy, the budget performance and framework, and key government revenue generators such as agriculture, mining and petroleum.
There are also outlooks on health, education and the law and justice sector and infrastructure project updates. These are some of the overall service delivery programs which will be highlighted during the event.
The theme for last year’s summit was "Consolidating the gains and growing the economy”.
This year’s event is the ninth installment of the annual occasion.
