PM launches National Press Club

Prime Minister Peter O’Neill officially launch the inaugural National Press Club today in Port Moresby.

In a fully packed conference room at Lamana Hotel, expatriates, business executives and media personnel gathered to ask the Prime Minister regarding issues affecting the lives of people in the country.

Chaired by the Media Council President Alexander Rheeney, the National Press Club conference room was filled with a mixture of experts including Institute of National Affairs Director Paul Barker and other business executive  in the likes of SP Brewer Managing Director Stan Joyce and others.

Media organisations filled the Working Press Table.

The ticket sales for the event is K150 with almost all the 20 table of 10 filled.

The event was telecast live on NBC radio and television.

Many people have shown appreciation towards the inaugural event but others suggest for a longer time.

The one hour program was not enough as other issues were not  covered by journalists who wanted to ask questions.

The next National Press Club will be held next month.

The Media Council will be scheduling the event and will inform about the dates.
