Opposition accuses Govt of misuse

Opposition Leader Patrick Pruaitch has accused the Government of using taxpayers’ money for its political motives.

He claimed that Opposition Members have not been getting their full K10 million DSIP and PSIP funds because the Government has used the funds elsewhere.

Speaking during the launch of the Namatanai District WFA Vegetable Buying Point recently, Pruaitch expressed his disappointment at the Government for not giving full K10 million DSIP to the Opposition MPs.

However, he said that will not stop them from delivering basic services to the people.

He added that there is always a season for everything and he is confident that Opposition will one day be given the power to rule.

He went on and said they will make sure such treatment by the Government will not be repeated if given the mandate to be on the Government side.

However, earlier in Parliament, Finance Minister James Marape clarified that all the MPs, including those in the Opposition, will get their full DSIP funding before this year ends.

Marape said even some of the MPs in the Government are yet to get their full DSIP funds.
