Manam volcano in the Bogia district of Madang province erupted again early this morning at around 5.
Peter Sukua, a local leader from Baliau village on Manam island told this newsroom from Manam that the volcano spewed ashes and lava.
He said more than 2,000 villagers in his village are in shock of what has happened and are currently evacuating the island.
He is calling on the Disaster Authority in Madang to quickly respond.
