Police in Madang launched and commenced its festive season operation on Thursday 22 December 2022.
Madang Provincial Police Commander, Superintendent David Seine Jr addressed police officers in Madang town police station in a parade. He called on his officers to work ethically and professionally during the festive season operation.
PPC Seine Jr who was in the provinces for the last 14 days was pleased with how the police officers had been working. He had witnessed good responses from police regarding a recent robbery.
With that, PPC Seine Jr told officers and the MS officers to maintain their good work during the festive season operation.
He called on the Madang public to celebrate meaningfully in their homes and not create situations that will encounter police.
"I want the people of Madang to know that the police have launched their festive season operation and they will be out in full force, to make sure the province is trouble-free. The police will be patrolling from Bogia to Ramu to make sure the highway is free.
“Leaders must take lead to make sure their respective homes are trouble-free. When one village, ward, or district is free from trouble, the whole of Madang will be trouble-free this festive season,” PPC Seine Jr said.
He added that the police officers would be engaged in the operation so each family member should take responsibility for their actions.
Police warn that the police duty counter would be closed and officers will not attend to little complaints but will respond to bigger and urgent issues.
PPC Seine's message to the people of Madang is to celebrate meaningfully.
