The funeral service for late Sir Manasupe Zurenuoc will be held today in Lae (Mar 11) before his burial in the afternoon.
A large number of dignitaries will attend the service, including the Governor General Bob Dadae and Prime Minister Peter O'Neill.
The dignitaries were scheduled to assemble at 10am for the funeral service at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, a stone's throw from the late statesman's residence at Eriku.
After the service, the body will be laid to rest at the State cemetery, which is opposite the Huon Gulf Hotel.
A large turnout is expected today to give a final farewell to the statesman who devoted much of his time to the work of a public servant, who eventual rose to the highest level as the Chief Secretary.
His own people from Finschhafen, will be there in numbers as there were boatloads of people sighted at the Voco Point beachfront yesterday.
