Kramer shouted down by Government MPs

Madang MP Bryan Kramer was shouted down in Parliament today in an attempt to pursue a follow up question he asked in Parliament yesterday.

His query concerns an alleged fraud case between former Madang MP Nixon Duban and Prime Minister Peter O’Neill.

Kramer was trying to direct the question to the Police Minister Jelta Wong.

He was the first MP to stand after the Speaker opened the floor for a 45-minute Question Without Notice.

Initially, Kramer had told Parliament that he had evidence of PM O’Neill authorising a payment requested by Duban, which had been found illegal by the courts.

Today, Kramer was attempting to pursue the same question but this time to the Police Minister. However, he was interrupted by a point of order from Imbonggu MP Pila Niningi.

Despite Niningi’s interruption, the Speaker allowed Kramer to ask his question.

Before the Police Minister was to respond, Minister for Works and Mendi MP Michael Nali interrupted.

The Speaker then instructed the Madang MP to bring his statement to the Police Minister, who will follow up with the Police Commissioner if this case was dealt with.

Today’s session begun an hour late from its usual 10am start.
