Kalang Advertising saddened by Roger Hau’ofa’s passing

The Board, management and staff of Kalang Advertising Limited have expressed their heart felt condolence to the family of King of talkback in Papua New Guinea the late Roger Hau’ofa.

The late Hau’ofa passed on peacefully at 11:42pm on Saturday, March at his wife Pauline’s village, Iare in Kairuku District, Central Province after suffering from kidney disease.

Chief executive officer of Kalang Advertising, trading as FM100 and Hot97FM, John Mong described late Hau’ofa as one of the media giant and King of radio talkback.

Mong said that no one can size up to the degree and magnitude of energy and knowledge he commanded in the radio talkback show he hosted.

The late Hau’ofa served the radio industry for more than 50 years and hosted the popular radio talkback show since its inception in 1995.

He retired at the end of 2009 from Kalang Advertising and was re-engaged as a consultant to continue to host the ever-popular talkback show for the last seven years up until mid-2016.

The talkback show was the longest series winning program that had an influence and impact on the lives of many across the country.

“The late Hau’ofa was a household name to all walks of life for his service to the media and hosting of radio talkback show in PNG. 

“Here at FM100 we will miss Roger’s gentle and kind hearted persona and that he leaves behind a legacy that will be remembered for many years to come,” Mong said.

Kalang Advertising operations manager and current talkback host Bonner Tito said in memory of the late Hau’ofa, they’re running tributes condolence messages on the show for the whole week.
