Indonesian Ambassador presents credentials

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia, Andriana Supandy, presented his Letter of Credence to Governor General Sir Bob Dadae at the government house today.

He said Government of the Republic of Indonesia hopes to enhance bilateral relations with PNG in various fields, including political and security.

Supandy stated that Indonesia also would like to encourage business opportunities and cooperation in trade, investment and tourism.

The Governor General accepted Ambassador Supandy’s Letter of Credence, saying sharing a border with Indonesia, PNG views it to be a very significant and strategic partner for security, border development and increased bilateral relationship.

He stressed that PNG will continue to uphold agreements that guide this relationship, including the Treaty of Mutual Respect, Friendship and Cooperation signed in 1986.
