Health Support Workers Association legally registered!

The PNG Health Support Workers Association has finally been confirmed as a legally registered operation.

The association is recognised by the Solicitor General's office.

This confirmation was made by the industrial registrar in a letter to the association, dated October 19.

The association received the letter on October 26 while the announcement was made today by the association's General Secretary, Jack Suao.

PNG Heath Support Workers Association was formed in 2014 to fight and improve working terms and conditions of the biggest group in the health sector.

Its existence however, was disputed by the Secretary for Department of Personnel Management (DPM), John Kali, in 2016.

Kali disputed the association's registration and did not entertain the log of claim submitted to his office in September 18, 2015.

With the confirmation letter from the industrial registrar, Suao made the announcement public to the 3000-plus members and other bodies who may be in doubt.
