Western Province Governor Taboi Awi Yoto has condemned a statement from the Office of the Member for North Fly on splitting the province.
He said he was not aware of the information and said it did not originate from his office.
He said he was only aware of a petition from community leaders on the agenda of the creation of the new province in 2017.
Unfortunately, he said the separation of the Province may not be feasible during his term but they can start the process, which may eventually get there sometimes in the future.
Governor Yoto added that the creation of the province is the last thing which was for the future to decide collectively and not bulldozed.
He assured his people that the issue on the creation of a separate province will not be rushed.
In the meantime, the Governor will continue to pursue the intentions of creating a few more electorates for a fair representation.
