His arrest stems from a purported trip to Cairns Australia in 2014 which never eventuated.
He has been arrested and charged for:
- One count under Public Finance Management Act
- False pretence under Criminal Code
- False accounting under Criminal Code
- One abuse of office under Criminal Code
The trip was to be taken by a group of Lae Urban LLG councillors and staff.
"He is now out on K4,000 police bail as of this afternoon," says Lae metropolitan superintendent, Anthony Wagambie Jnr.
More arrests will be made as the Fraud Squad investigation continues.
