Chuuk crash update

An unfortunate news has come of the PX aircraft incident in the Federated States of Micronesia.

Earlier today Air Niugini reported that it cannot account for one male passenger and is working with local authorities, hospitals and investigators to locate this passenger, who was on board flight PX 073.

Initial reports on scene indicated that all passengers and crew were safely evacuated from the aircraft.

Air Niugini reported it was working with the embassy and the passenger’s travel facilitator to contact his family.

The airline said locating the missing man as well as providing ongoing support to the other passengers, crew and families remains its primary concern.

Air Niugini is also in the process of transferring the passengers and crew from PX 073 to Port Moresby, whilst six passengers remain hospitalized in Micronesia.

A special Air Niugini flight departed Port Moresby early this morning as planned, and a support team is now on the ground in Chuuk assessing the condition and immediate needs of the passengers and crew.
