Bialla LLG women receive gesture from Governor Muthuvel

Women of Noau, Ubili and Ulamona in the Bialla LLG were given a reason to celebrate the International Women's Day last week.

Provincial Governor Sasindran Muthuvel and his delegates arrived in the area in a vehicle adorned with presents for women groups. The presents included the truck, sewing machines, fishing nets and a sea ambulance boat for the Nantabu Health Centre.
A jubilant crowd thanked the Governor saying they were overwhelmed with his heartwarming gesture.

"For us to have someone of his status to come to our level and give us something that will greatly empower us, makes us speechless," said Ubili Women's Rep, Regina Baba.
Women play a very important role in their homes by maintaining order and discipline in the family and the community, and the Governor has recognised their valued contribution to society over the years.

The vehicle will contribute to the economic activities by boosting mother's to transport their garden produce to the market and will also be a means of transport to access much needed services such as health and social services.
According to Fr. Gabriel Tovo, Provincial Council of Churches Representative the gesture of celebrating an international event as such with mothers from remote areas portrays his genuine heart for his people.

"Our Governor has a big heart and his ears are always ready to listen intently with an eye to identify the needs of his people accordingly," said Fr. Tovo.
The Governor commended the women from the area for their spirit of perseverance despite the hardship presented by the natural setting of their location.

"It is now up to you to manage the trucks well in order for it to serve your best interest," said Governor Muthuvel.

“The foundation of this nation is defined by the respect of our mothers, for our education system and our teachers and for our leaders, that is why we commit to honour the first pillar of supporting and empowering our mothers. By taking such small steps at a time we are coincidentally contributing to ensure WNB makes a significant mark in the nation,” the Governor said
