Aust Gov’t Delegation visits WNB

An Australian Parliamentary delegation arrived this week in the country for a two-day visit to various establishments in West New Britain Province.

They were welcomed at the Hoskins Airport by West New Guinea Governor, Sasindran Muthuvel, Talasea MP, Freddie Reu Kumai and acting Provincial Administrator Leo Mapmani with other senior public Servants

The delegation accompanied by Governor Muthuvel and MP Kumai also visited Bitokara Community Health Post which Australia is also providing assistance through Incentive funding.

The Aid post was built in the early 60s, and is being upgraded to level 2 community health post.

The Australian Government delegation also visited the Kimbe market redevelopment project. The delegation was happy with the progress of works.

Australia has given funding assistance of K15million, New Zealand government with K10 million and West New Britain Provincial Government with K5m from Provincial Support Improvement program funding.
