1RPIR holds Communications training

The First Royal Pacific Islands Regiment held a communications display this afternoon following a week long training at their battalion base.

The training practical carried out today is part and parcel of the battalion preparing for their security operations come the main leaders week for APEC this November.

The communication display for senior officers was part of the culmination of a weeklong Command, Control, Communications and Coordination or C4 training.

The exercise consisted of three posts set up around the barracks, with one main communication center coordinating communication drills over the radio.

Meantime, the over-all training was given an additional boost today, when Data Co donated K17,000 worth of computers.

The battalion commanding officer, Lt Colonel Boniface Aruma says will help assist the battalion in their admin set up for the operations.

Meanwhile, Data Co, Commercial General Manager, Une O’ome said that their organization as part of their Community Service Obligation was happy to support efforts to help boost operations for APEC 2018.
