Beach Volley to Qualify

PNG Men's beach volleyball team beat Kiribati 2 sets to nil to kick start their campaign in qualifying for the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games.

PNG will play five matches and depending on their performance will qualify for the Gold Coast event.

The second match against Solomon Islands is currently underway at the Korman sports complex and PNG taking out the first set.

Team PNG's beach volleyball team manager Koavea Karulaka says they are not taking any game lightly.

Karulaka said the PNG beach volleyball team trained hard with lead up overseas camps in the last 3 months.

The PNG men’s volleyball team of Richard Kilarupa and Moha Mea are hoping to repeat their 2015 Pacific Games gold medal peformance.
