The Minister for Health, HIV and AIDS, Sir Puka Temu, expressed satisfaction at the result of the first round of the Supplementary Polio Immunisation campaign.
To date, more 299,683 children have been vaccinated.

Minister Temu said the result of the first round is a testament to the dedication of the more than 2,900 outbreak responders, health worker and community volunteers, amongst others.
Four emergency operations centres have been set up to manage day-to-day response operations with 17 international experts with expertise in surveillance, immunisation, risk communication, data management and finance, logistics and administration coordination.
