The results that were brought to court confirmed Leonard’s election with 6,257 votes while Gordon Wesley, the successful petitioner, scored 6, 230.
The National court in Alotau ordered a recount on March 28 after trial was conducted.
The court cited errors and commission, committed by the Election commission on Form 66A and Form 66B, ordering a judicial recount.
The recount commenced on 30 April and concluded on 13 May.
Leonard’s declared election on 22 July 2017 was confirmed by the court at 2pm today.
