A highlight of the event included a Silent Art Auction where seven art pieces, contributed by various local artist and a photographer, were auctioned to the highest bidder. All proceeds went towards the recent earthquake relief.

“PIH is pleased to announce that a total amount of K4,000 was raised during the Silent Art Auction,” said the hospital in a statement.

“A cheque of K4,000 was presented to the Mission Aviation Fellowship, the NGO working for earthquake relief, on  April 18th at the Pacific International Hospital, Three-Mile.”

Sandeep Shaligram, CEO of Pacific International Hospital, said: “We would like to thank everyone who contributed to our Silent Art Auction, the highest bidders and contributing artists.

“We're so pleased to see this art auction was well-received.  An aftermath of a natural disaster is a tragedy for families and those affected, and we are glad to assist in any way.”

Art pieces that were auctioned were donated by local artists Jeffry Feeger, Laben Sakale John, Purago and local photographer, Alistairs Dirua of ADirua Photography. The silent art auction was one of the main highlights of the event co-hosted by the Moresby Arts Theatre and facilitated by Michelle Hau’ofa.
