Photo comp for inspirational women

The Pacific International Hospital has opened a photo competition this week.

This contest is to commemorate the International Women’s Day in March.

With the theme “A woman who inspires me”, participants are encouraged to submit 3 entries capturing a moment in life of a woman who inspires them.

It can be three entries of three different women, or three entries of one woman as the subject.

These photos should show the face of the subject and must portray perseverance, progress and courage.

The competition due date is midday March 6, 2018, so judges can determine the three winners to make the announcement on March 8.

Requirements include that photo/s cannot: defame, misrepresent or contain disparaging images about other people or institutions; be in violation of any law; be sexually explicit, violent or suggestive; derogatory of any ethnic, racial, gender, religious, professional or age group or be profane; promote alcohol, illegal drugs, tobacco, firearms/weapons (or the use of any of the foregoing); any particular political agenda or message.

This competition is open to all males and females 18+ years.

Entries must include a brief statement about the photos (not more than 50 words) to explain the image.

These can be shared by posting it to the PIH Facebook Events Page with a brief caption or email your entry to pihphotocontest@gmail.com with the hashtag #pihpng #PressForProgress.

More info on this contest is on the official events Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/events/157117138282729/)

This contest is the first activity to kick off the program the hospital has to celebrate women in this country.

PIH will also host a program on March 8 to showcase a video capturing the view of local women on gender equality and women empowerment.
