MPIP first judging category

The Miss PNG Pacific Islands Pageant held their very first judging category and topic presentation at the Crowne Hotel today.

Six of the Miss PNG contestants were given a topic to present on; and all the points gathered by the judges will be added on to the night of the crowning on 10th of December, 2022 at the APEC Haus.

MPIP PNG Committee Chairperson, Molly O’Rourke, gave a run-down on what will happen on the night of the crowning.

“We are proud to be crowning the 9th Miss Papua New Guinea this Saturday, we have six contestants whom you have witnessed in the first judging category; topic presentation. On Saturday they will have other categories that they will be judged on, so it will be on stage performance for their talent, in their stage questions and also the traditional inspired attire,” she stated.

O’Rourke acknowledged the contestant sponsors and partners for the support towards the pageant. She stated that today’s event was exciting and all contestants did fantastic.

“I think the six of them did well based on each topic and all the topics were well presented today. I am very proud of them. This is a category were we judge them by their intellectual, their eloquence and their knowledge about issues affecting people of PNG and the Pacific region. I am very content and congratulate them,” said O’Rourke.
