Charity car wash raises over K60,000

105 under privileged children will have the opportunity to get an education.

This has been made possible by a charity car wash held on Sunday.

The children are under the Strongim Pikinini Education Program by Life PNG Care, a local charity.

The car wash was part of a series of fundraisers to raise funds to sponsor these children.

The charity aims to raise K95,000 to meet costs such as uniforms, stationery, shoes, bags or even if there are schools charging project fees.

“We sponsor kids to complete elementary to primary education and if successful enough, to go to secondary, tertiary, colleges; we are just there to support,” said Collin Pake, national director.

Life PNG Care had raise K50,000 from previous fundraisers.

“We are trying to raise the remaining balance of K45,000 through various fundraising activities.

“We are privileged to have 2Fast Motors give us this opportunity to raise funds.

“We have gone above our target (on Sunday). We raised above K60,000, a very successful car wash activity for us,” Pake said.

The education program began with 12 kids in 2014, 61 in 2015, 85 in 2016 and 105 now.

“Each year we are registering more kids under the strongim education program. We want to impact the children through education.”
