BSP supports cancer awareness

The PNG Cancer Foundation (PNGCF) recently received a generous donation of K4,133 from BSP’s Asset Management Unit (AMU) staff.

Funds presented were raised from a staff initiated morning tea fundraiser that was held on Friday 12th October to mark Breast Cancer Awareness month and raise awareness on cancer.

Priscillar Napoleon, Executive Manager – Papua New Guinea Cancer Foundation, thanked the staff for the initiative and the support of the Bank and its employees.

“As a charitable organisation, PNGCF’s work would not be possible without the backing of local companies and individuals,” said Napoleon.

Head of Asset Management Mukesh Madho said: “The bank recognises the significant health issues faced by many in PNG and are grateful for the work that PNG Cancer Foundation and its partners do in the communities. The awareness is crucial, as we know that early detection can save lives.

“We started with our AMU staff, moved to creating awareness for our colleagues and this donation will go toward a greater good, in increasing awareness, supporting prevention, testing, diagnosis, treatment and a cure.”
