Job Title: BI Analyst
Location: South Pacific
Papua New Guinea

The BI Analyst responsibility is to correctly develop, measure, thoroughly analyse and manage the company’s financial intelligence needs. The role requires the continuous tracking and development of analysed reports on the macro and micro activities affecting Revenues, ARPU, Collections, Sales/ Acquisition, Costs and all aspects of the performance of the business products and services.

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  •   Conducts analysis of customer base movements, prepares margin analysis by revenue stream and produces segmented revenue & customer analysis reports

  •   Design, implement and manage reporting and business intelligence solutions from internal and external data sources

  •   Responsible for customer segmentation and profiling analysis for new products and solutions design and Development.

  •   Analyse customer needs while aligning the needs to internal strategic and commercial goals

  •   Use visual, logical & creativity to identify, design and build insightful dashboards that enable business owners to stay on top of KPIs and marketing initiatives.

  •   Design optimal solutions for data collection using industry best practices and organization governance philosophies to improve revenues and retention

  •   Validate data by creating and managing reconciliations between data sources

  •   Assist with the interpretation of user requirements into feasible options, and communicating these back to the business stakeholders

  •   Understand business users needs and translate them to technical requirements for implementation

  •   Support marketing optimization by providing customer segmentation for targeting promotional activities and attribution modelling.

  •   Test data loads, segmentations, triggered dialogs and reports through statistics software, as well as dynamic content in emails, landing pages and script.

  •   Builds and maintains a customer’s needs at specific promotions to create and sustain opportunities for building lasting relationship with customers.

  •   Develop recommendations/Improvements to Key Process Indicators and methodologies

  •   Maintains up to date on all technical data/literature and technology on tools, products and services offered by the Department.

 

Academic qualifications and experience required for the job:

  •   First (1st) degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics (or equivalent professional qualification

  •   At least one (1) year hands-on experience in data analysis, statistics, and data modelling as well as proficiency in managing large datasets in different formats such as text/CSV, excel, access, Oracle, SQL Server or related.

  •   Knowledge of programming languages such as R, Python, Java, DAX

 

Knowledge and Functional Skills:

  •   Strong communication skills and ability to translate complex findings in a structured and clear manner to a non-technical audience

  •   Solid analytical skills to be able to identify and solve problems through data analysis.

  •   Working knowledge of Data warehousing and Database best practice

  •   Advanced Excel skills, including experience using formulas, pivot tables, etc.

  •   Flexible, adaptable, and able to function effectively under pressure

  •   Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and customer-centric but also a team player

  •   Results-driven and solution-oriented approach.
