They should never be forgotten

Those that battled at the Kokoda Track should never be forgotten.

Over the years, documentary films and short videos have been produced as a reminder of the hardships faced on the famous Kokoda Track during World War II.

But for the first time, a documentary allows a local perspective onto the big screens.

Fuzzy Wuzzy, Beyond the Legend is a documentary that looks at the history of the Kokoda Track from a Papua New Guinean perspective.

More importantly, this documentary focuses on the angels of the tracks – the Fuzzy Wuzzy Angels.

It allows viewers to see through the eyes of the only living survivor.

The documentary gives an insight into the role played by the Fuzzy Wuzzy Angels, a group of unlikely heroes who saved countless of lives on the Kokoda Track during WWII.

At the same, it is meant to showcase the physical beauty of one of the most emblematic tourist destinations in Papua New Guinea and more importantly, reminds us of how those that battled at the Kokoda Track should never be forgotten.

Produced by EMTEK for the PNG Tourism Promotion Authority (TPA), this 40-minute documentary will be the first of a series of works dedicated to the battles fought in Papua New Guinea during WWII.

This is in celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Kokoda campaign.

The said documentary will have a limited screening at Paradise Cinemas Vision City on September 8-13.

Ticket price is at K10 per person. Discounts to schools and corporate companies are also available.
