Preparations have commenced for the famous annual Goroka Show 2017, scheduled from September 15-17.
The 61st Goroka Show will be hosted at the Goroka Show Grounds in Eastern Highlands Province.
The show attracted over 500 tourists last year from countries as far as Israel, Germany, UK, Japan, Italy, USA, China and Australia.
About 100 singsing groups participated from as far as Southern Highlands, Simbai, Madang, WHP, Simbu, Morobe and Southern region participated in the event.
The 2017 organisers are now calling for interested sponsors to support the show, and have advised that most hotels and lodges are already fully booked for the show in September.
They said it would be advisable to do hotel reservations now for individuals or organisations.
Organiser Keryn Hargreaves confirmed earlier that the show is already getting request for 2018 APEC Leaders’ Summit.
The event will kick off with the Pikinini Festival on Sept 15 followed by singsing groups throughout the weekend.
