Mong wins Mr Cosmopolitan title

The Mangi Tolai has snatched the title as the Cosmopolitan's first ever male brand ambassador.

Chris Mong was bestowed  the inaugural Mr Cosmopolitan title in the early hours of this morning.

It was obvious from the beginning of the show that he had the audience on his side.

Dressed in traditional attire from East New Britain for the traditional wear category, then stripping right down to shorts and a towel in the beach wear category, pulling on recycled coffee bags in the creative wear and finally making a bold statement in the suit and tie category, Mong proved worthy of the title.

His confidence even shocked the judges.

But he did alright and snatched off the title in a heated run on the runway featuring nine other male models.

Closely behind him were Gabby Sapakum as the first runner up and Carter Guri as the second runner up.

Mong raked up K5,000 cash price with the title as the winner and a year’s membership at Stanley Hotel, Sapakum was awarded K3,000 and a night for two at the Stanley Hotel while Guri received K2,000 including membership at the  Cosmopolitan.
