Kerowaii: Mango Tree’s release date confirmed

The date of Kerowaii’s long awaited debut album has been revealed.

New Zealand based hip hop artist says Mango Tree will be released in June 10 via iTunes & Spotify.

Mango Tree captures all aspects of Kerowaii’s life, like never seen before.

He says the journey to put this album together has been a rollercoaster.

“I want to show growth & maturity from my song writing abilities too my structures, flow and material usage. It has taken me out of my comfort zone and really has me digging deep within myself to bring out a person whom I don't show much people, its show the ugly,  the good the bad, the happy and the struggles and success of my life,” Kerowaii told Loop PNG.

The debut album also features the likes of upcoming artists like Luis from Crooked Lidz (Kerowaii’s younger brother on two tracks on the album), as well as Alice Tanner, a talented singer & writer.

Mango Tree is mostly produced by Brisbane native VZN & Christchurch very own Infectious. The album artwork by Detroit Travers.

Sure enough, a lot of effort has been into this album given the significance it has in the artist’s personal life.

The name Mango Tree reflects on Kerowaii’s childhood where he spent most days with his late mother by the fire place under the mango tree.

“I wanted this album too show the transition of a young innocent boy who lost his mother and lost his place in the world, to grow up and find himself again. I wanted to show you who I really am!”
