Jokema lead singer speaks on health battle

Jokema front man Honlly Isaac has confirmed that he is on the road to recovery after battling his way off life support.

Whilst apologising to friends and fans for his recent absence and silence on the music scene, Isaac, commonly known as Jokema, said: “I am paralysed from the waist down.

“Saying it out loud to you all is part of the recovery process. But I am alive and I thank God for that. Whether or not I will ever walk again is in God's hands, my faith and determination."

It has taken him 10 months to open up after his devastating spinal cord injury, but he is determined to come out on top.

“This has given me time to also focus on the things that matter most in life. The little things we take for granted. I have so much respect for people living like me who struggle daily and those that give their time selflessly to help us make one small step at a time on the path to recovery," Isaac continued.

“I thought my life was over but god-willing he decided to let me hang in for a while longer. But I still have my voice and I have my heart so I am going to still bring music to the world and hopefully a voice for those who need someone to listen to their plight.

“Thank you so much for your love over the years. I'm still here and always still inspired to bring new music no matter what the situation may be.

“Passion drives love and love drives happiness and happiness brings wellbeing. Be blessed, stay strong and never stop dreaming for dreams do come true only if we never stop trying.”
