Gospel band marks 25th anniversary

Family, friends and the generally public came together on Saturday night to celebrate the P2UIF gospel band’s 25th anniversary.

The band used the occasion to announce its farewell concert.

The Dynasty Restaurant in Port Moresby was packed to celebrate P2UIF’s achievements for the last 25 years.

The band played some favourite tunes while everyone enjoyed good food.

The dinner was also to raise funds for the band’s farewell concert at the end of the year.

The concert will involve a mini orchestra which includes a 3 piece horn section and a 4 piece string section.

Both these groups will come into Port Moresby from Cairns and Brisbane respectively to be part of the concert.

The idea behind the farewell concert is that the band has given its finest 25 years to various churches and organisations and the people of PNG, and now plans to continue its outreach internationally.

The band says it is now planning to record its next lot of songs in Australia and maybe in the United States.

With the resulting high quality products, P2UIF hopes to market its songs overseas, thereby generating more revenue which would help finance the spread of the gospel.
