Friends Foundation Inc to host dance

Friends Foundation Inc will be hosting its fundraising dance this weekend – the first fundraising activity for the year.

FFI is a Port Moresby based charity organisation that assists children who are HIV or exposed to HIV.

Executive officer Roderick Sitapai says this can be a very expensive exercise.

A big portion of the yearly budget goes towards buying Lactogen, which costs K500 per carton.

FFI buys two cartons monthly to assist children exposed to HIV, under the age of 1, who have been weaned from breast milk.

“This is to minimise the risk of HIV being transmitted to the child,” he said.

Apart from Lactogen, care provided covers nutritional support for these children and bus fare to and from the Port Moresby General Hospital for treatment.

FFI also aims to revive a few programs this year, like the defaulted tracing and group therapy.

Over the year, the organisation will be hosting a couple of fundraising activities to generate money to assist their operations.

FFI welcomes public support in either cash or kind.

The fundraising dance this Saturday will be held at the Regal Bar and Grill.

Tickets are selling for K10.
