O’Neill officially opens 2017 Leaders’ Summit

Prime Minister, Peter O’Neill, officially opened the 5th and final 2017 Leaders’ Summit at the Stanley Hotel in Port Moresby this morning.

The Summit brought together national, provincial and local level governments, government department and statutory agencies heads and commodity boards, as well as private sector bodies and development partners.

The annual event provides a forum for Provincial and Districts level leaders to present reports on achievements and disappointments experienced at all Government levels.

The Summit is an initiative of the current coalition government led by O’Neill since taking office in 2012.

The theme for this year’s summit is ‘Our 5 years achievement: Next 5 years in the balance’.

The two day event will feature some Districts’ CEOs and Provincial administrators including Acting Morobe Provincial Administrator and CEO Finchschaffen District Development Authority, Sheila Harou, and Hela Provincial Administrator, William Bando, and others.
