Nuku Open seat register nine candidates

Nine candidates who have nominated to contest the Nuku Open seat in 2017 National Elections could be the lowest number in the country.

Current Nuku Member of Parliament, Joe Sungi will be defending his seat against eight rivals.

Nuku is an electorate in West Sepik Province.

PNG Electoral Commission media officer Alphonse Muapi said the total number of candidates contesting in this year’s election will be official released by the PNGEC later today or on Monday.      

The candidates are Emmanuel Nassam (Box 10), Alfred Talis Lee (11), Mauri Nemantu (12), Andrew Kumbakor (13), Sungi (14), Kelly Mosong (15), Mathew Suni (16), Nelson Kelly (17), and Adam Mensum Wangu (18).

Kumbakor is the former MP who lost in the 2012 elections.
