Lelang launches Coalition for Reform Party in Kimbe

West New Britain Province has set its mark in the Political history by launching its very own Political Party, the Coalition for Reform Party, in Kimbe recently.

This coincided with the endorsement of 24 candidates from respective provinces around Papua New Guinea by Party founder and leader Joseph Lelang, Member for Kandrian- Gloucester Electorate.

Two of the candidates are female.

With the theme, “Taim Bilong Yumi” the party is driven to set a benchmark to move the country to the next level by analysing the government’s systems and providing resolutions that are applicable and relevant to facilitate through reform.

One of the vital standing that needs to be taken into account is the role of a leader as a policy maker and what is expected of them by law compared to the implementers that are the bureaucrats and public servants.

“As the leader of your people you are responsible to give directions in terms of legislation and regulative powers of the country,” Lelang said.

He said it is time for Papua New Guineans to take ownership of their own welfare by existing entity yet open to embrace change and work in partnership with reliable partners for the best interest of development of the country.

“We must exist as a unique entity with a dynamic mindset and perspective driven by wisdom to lead with a difference as visionary leaders,” he said.

The party candidates collectively came up with the party platform that will focus on sustainable agriculture, Small & Medium Enterprise policies and Political & Parliamentary stability through government reform, education, health and policies that will address youth & unemployment issues among others that will be made formal once it is finalized.

He said we are facing a silent social crisis in the country that needs to be addressed before we lose our inheritance and birth right by leaving too much at stake.

He urged his people to contribute meaningfully as a united force to the development of the country.
